Would You Put a Bucket Over a Sprinkler?
By Olivia Wells, LigTel Marketer
Probably not — because it would block the water and your yard wouldn’t get covered evenly.
That’s basically what happens when a router gets hidden in a decorative box, tucked inside a cabinet, or stuck behind furniture. You might still connect… but the signal is getting blocked, so your Wi-Fi won’t reach your home as evenly as it should.
And that’s when you start noticing:
- buffering in one room
- laggy video calls
- “why is the Wi-Fi fine here but not there?”
Sometimes it’s not your internet speed — it’s router placement.
Where your router should go
For the best coverage, your router should be:
- somewhere central in your home
- out in the open (not inside furniture)
- up a bit (table/shelf is better than the floor)
Wi-Fi spreads outward — so the more open and centered the router is, the better chance it has to reach every room.
Our techs help with this
When we install service, our techs look for the best router location based on your home’s layout and where you actually use Wi-Fi.
If your home still has weak spots, we can recommend indoor extenders to help fill in the gaps. And if you want coverage in a garage, patio, or outdoor space, we offer outdoor extenders too.
If your Wi-Fi feels great in one room and frustrating in another, give us a call — we’ll help you get it working the way it should.
