Rules for Entering a Fish on
The Private Pond Record Fish Website (PPRF)

Ponds must not be public waters. The definition of public waters are those that are not owned by a private landowner and are under the control of state and federal entities. The angler who submits the fish for entry must be the pond owner or submit the name and signature of the pond owner with his application to indicate he or she had permission to fish the pond.

No awards are given, however, winners will have their photos posted on the PPRF web site with corresponding pertinent information. Due to the enormous time it would take, individual states or regions will not be separated for more than one entry per species except by those in northern and southern climate states. Tied fish will be kept on the site; however fish that are eclipsed by a larger fish will be deleted due to space constraints.

Northern climate states are designated as ME, NH, VT, MA, NY, CT, RI, NJ, PA, OH, IN, IA, MI, WI, IL, MO, MN, ND, SD, NE, CO, WY, MT, UT, ID, WA, OR, KS, AK

Southern climate states are designated as FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, KY, WV, TN, AL, MS, LA, TX, AR, OK, NM, AZ, CA, NV, DE, MD, HI,
