The F4I swap

Here is a nice mod for the 919. Since I couldn't adjust any suspension on my 03 forks, I decided to try this mod. And I'm so glad I did. I can't believe the difference in the suspension. It feels like a bike should. No more hard jolts.  Plus it's not really that hard of a mod. Here is a simple break down of the swap. 

Get your bike on the stand.


Remove the bakes. It's a good idea to zip tie the calipers to the radiator just so you don't have the weight of the caliper on the brake line. Plus it keeps the caliper out of the way.

Remove tire.



Remove fender.

Then your ready to remove the forks. Simply loosen the fork clamp bolt and lower the fork down.



Now you can install the new forks.

Install the F4I front fender. I'm waiting on mine. The 919 fender won't work.

Installing the front tire is next.

Now install the brake calipers.



Everything bolts right up. I am waiting on a front fender and when I get that I will show that process.  All I can say is, what a difference. Makes me wonder why Honda didn't do this in the first place. Very easy mod and everything is pretty straight forward.
